This ones’ for those who need an extra bit of somethin’ somethin’ in their morning espresso. We get some distinct flavours from this origin because of the volcanic soil quality in Colombia. El Indio is located in the Tolima region, about 300 kms from Bogotá. This area is one of the most productive coffee growing areas in the country.
Producer Camilo Enciso is the director of the ASOPEP association, which is made up of 175 coffee farming families, borne out of the need to make some socio-political changes to the coffee farming industry in Colombia. Their goals are to market their own coffee production, to have local governance and to resource future generations with sustainable environmental strategies. So, these guys are kinda badass. Not to mention, for the last decade their coffees have been represented in the Cup of Excellence awards EVERY year. No biggie. This coffee is a natural (sun-dried) and is sitting pretty with a cupping score of 87.
We love this coffee coz: it’s got a kick to it. Sweet, popping candy goodness to give you that Monday morning sugar hit.
Our Glee family have roasted this coffee to suit both espresso/filter applications.
