Back by popular demand, this coffee is one of our all-time favourites. Kirasa, Burundi is part of the Akawa Project, which seeks to empower producers & their families to escape poverty in a sustainable & economic way. The initiative is based around UTZ certification standards, focusing on good agricultural practices, environmental responsibility and social equity.
The farm is located right on the Kirasa river, surrounded by lush greenery and situated at 1100m altitude. This coffee is processed using a natural (sun-dried) method and is of the Bourbon variety. Epic lady boss Anne-Marie Niyakire is the key agronomist onsite alongside Emile Ndikumasabo.
We love this coffee cos: this farm is led by a lady! Anne-Marie, you are a boss! Not to mention, it's refreshing! Peachy white wine flavours are on point.
Our Glee family have roasted this coffee to suit both espresso/filter applications.
